Purpose and Key Focus

Responsibilities include the use of skills and expertise to provide emergency response, medical assessment, primary health care, injury prevention, and coordinate emergency medical evacuations as needed. You will exercise independence, judgment and initiative by logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems that arise on site. You will be responsible for assessing the extent of injuries or illness to determine the course of medical treatment and patient evacuations/extrication's from remote areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Insuring occupational health of all personnel.
  • Assess the extent of injuries or illness to determine the course of medical treatment and patient evacuations/extrications from remote areas.
  • Document and record the nature of injuries and treatment provided.
  • Planning for and coordinating incident response.
  • Perform unit and site inspections in compliance with Infinity Industrial health and safety plan.
  • Liaise with nearby fire centers as needed to coordinate patient care and transfers.
  • Perform unit and site inspections in compliance with Infinity's' Industrial health and safety plan.
  • Evaluate units ability to perform patient assessments, and care and monitor trends in illness outbreaks
  • Audit use of over the counter medications, supplies and equipment for treatment centers
  • Develop and maintain medical plans

Core Competencies

  • Experience working in a remote camp with limited in-person support.
  • Comfortable travelling on small aircrafts.
  • Ability to maintain composure, be firm, reassuring, and efficient in emergency situations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey medical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Good physical condition (must be able to complete the Fitness Test of 2.25 Km walk with 20lbs in 20 minutes).
  • With safety being our top priority, strict adherence to Infinity's Zero-Tolerance Policy towards drugs and alcohol is a condition of employment.
  • Following Public Health requirements in BC, adherence to COVID protocols is a condition of employment.
  • Good physical condition (must be able to complete the Fitness Test of 2.25 Km walk with 20lbs in 20 minutes).
  • With safety being our top priority, strict adherence to Infinity's Zero-Tolerance Policy towards drugs and alcohol is a condition of employment. Following Public Health requirements in BC, adherence to COVID protocols is a condition of employment.

Education & Experience

  • S100/S185 or S100A
  • Proof of PCP BC licensing
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License & Current (within 30 days) Drivers Abstract
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with little supervision and the ability to take initiative

Education & Experience

  • Currently certified as a primary care paramedic in BC
  • A minimum of 3+ years of primary care paramedic experience
  • Strong assessment skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English and good communication skills
  • Current certifications in BLS, ITLS, WHMIS, TDG and OFA3
  • Proficiency in use of medical records software and office software such as MS Word and Excel
  • This mine is extremely remote and requires a drive through Alaska to get to site, valid passport or alternate ID will need to be provided.
