Job Title: Business Analyst

Location: Calgary or Toronto, Canada

Pay Rate: CAD 90,000 per annum

Role Overview:

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in driving the analysis, design, and implementation of financial solutions that support our business objectives and meet the needs of our clients. Leveraging your expertise in finance and business analysis, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and deliver innovative solutions that drive value for our stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the requirements gathering process for finance-related initiatives, working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and define solution requirements.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of financial data, processes, and systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop detailed business requirements documents, use cases, and functional specifications that clearly articulate the desired outcomes and drive alignment among stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and alignment with industry best practices.
  • Drive the testing and validation of financial systems and processes, coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and providing support to ensure successful implementation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on finance-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies in the finance domain, proactively identifying opportunities for innovation and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 8-9 years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects, from requirements gathering to implementation, with a focus on driving business value and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, such as data analysis, process modeling, and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, CFA, FRM) are a plus.
