Job Description

We are seeking an Architect to join our Buildings Group in the Bowmanville office, in a hybrid model. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow their career in a team-based environment, working collaboratively to deliver a wide range of projects in multiple markets including transit, commercial, education, healthcare, and federal.

Primary responsibilities

  • Working with the project team to prepare conceptual designs, presentations, design development and construction documents for a variety of projects
  • Assist in the integration of multi-disciplinary input into the design process from specialists in areas such as traffic engineering, transportation safety, storm water management, geotechnical engineering, and environment/ecology
  • Assume role of key project manager in the control and management of resources, budgets, and schedules
  • Act as key project liaison with clients
  • Assist in the management of the architectural staff
  • Preparation of presentation materials and renderings for client and public consultations
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and prepare materials for inclusion in permit application packages to secure approvals
  • Assist with contract administration services and/or construction inspection as required Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities
  • Represent architectural group at team meetings
  • Assist in written materials for proposals, design briefs, meeting reports, and other non-drafting tasks associated with the architectural design process
  • Conduct Design development & Review
  • Provide Mentorship to junior staff
Qualifications
  • Graduate in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch) or equivalent combination of education
  • Licensed Architect - Registered in good standing with the OAA
  • 8-14 continuous years of relevant continuous work experience
  • French language skills would be an asset
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project tasks
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • LEED and or Passive House accreditation would be an asset
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable personal vehicle
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and a desire to contribute to the success of a team through a focus on quality and client satisfaction
  • Proven ability to QA/QC drawings and specifications
