NATURAL HEALTH PROGRAM CONSULTANT

HOURS: Four 7-hr. days per week (Sun to Wed, 9-5 minus 1-hr break; including stat holidays). Occasionally, you may need to stay longer to finish the consultations.

STARTING DATE: when the right candidate is chosen

PAY: starting at $28, after probation (3 months) $29 per hour. Top pay per position: $35 per hour, raises are gradual within 3 yrs. and subject to additional training and the ability to sustain/ increase the sales goals.

Financial Bonuses: When both consultants jointly reach $200 K+ gross sales per month - they are paid an additional $1K each; when $300 K+ they get $2K each.

POSITION SUMMARY: It is a consultative sales position. Your main responsibility is to respond to inquiries and register guests for health retreat programs. Workload is shared with another Program Consultant who works Wednesday to Saturday. This is a non-commission position, but the go-getter personality, ability to close and deliver the minimum monthly quota, jointly with the 2nd program consultant, is expected.

Disclaimer: your work schedule may vary from the one described above during the initial training to accommodate the needs of another consultant (and vice versa) and the company.

ADDITIONAL TERMS:

End of the season Layoffs: In Nov/Dec you'll have fewer hours and 3-4 weeks off (will be planned early Nov). The expected return date is Dec 26th, as the season restarts and we need to fill up for January.

Work Location: Blended. You mostly work from home with occasional days at the retreat (you live in the Comox Valley or within a short travel distance). Quality working space at home and high-quality internet connection are a must.

TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:

Clients book because they see that we have a good understanding of their condition symptoms and our common sense/scientific understanding of root causes of diseases. Your must-haves:

  • Love promoting/ selling the service you believe in
  • Passionate about natural health
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of various physical and emotional health conditions, plus addictive habits (smoking, social drinking)
  • Quick systems learner (technically savvy)
  • Emotional resilience and endurance – you are able to carry the load
  • Reliable, self-starter, go-getter, great at self-organization – you are a great planner, you'll stay on top of leads, can ask for a referral and push for one more call/email before you go home

WOULD BE AN ASSET:

Natural Health or Medicine-related Training/ Credentials (ex. Registered Natural Health Consultant, LPN, Herbalist, Nutritionist etc.)

Extensive Coaching/ Consultative Background (ex. 5 yrs. F/T selling health products/services)

Cold calling experience (ex. fundraising) or sales of high-ticket products or services

3-4 yrs. post-secondary degree

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Leads follow-up (short and long-term leads, past guests follow-up): phone, e-mail, SMS, mail-out packs.

2. Conduct over-the-phone health consultations and registrations. Delegate advanced cases' consults to the Senior Program Consultant.

The registration process includes the set-up of financing plans, collecting paperwork and managing A/R.

Our Detox & Recharge Programs: focus on whole body cleansing for holistic seekers with mild health issues (bloating, GI issues, weight gain, being stressed).

Our GoDeeper Programs guests' health issues may include diabetes, HBP, obesity, digestive problems, depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, smoking and others.

3. Greeting the new arrivals on the first Sunday of each program cycle (every 6 weeks) - being the first point of contact, you make the bond with the new guests. It is essential to their comfort to be greeted by the person they know when they arrive at the retreat. This Sunday is a longer day (may end as late as 8:30-9 p.m.).

4. Additional Duties:

Leads Generation: email sequences creation/management. Send thank you cards, collect Google Reviews, manage References List and other related to sales stimulation activities.

Sales Dep Systemization: automation, systemization, procedure creation and process improvement.

Guest Coordination and Support on Arrival/ Departure Days (Fridays and Sundays). During the programs (3-week program cycles alternate with the 3-weeks of no program), you may be requested to be regularly responsible for the new arrivals/ late departures support, which may include phone coordination of late arrivals and those who "got lost" on the way, ensuring everyone arrives on time, as well as occasionally doing the facility tour for late arrivals and being a back-up driver (for example to pick up a person from Nanaimo ferry due to a flight cancelled or to drop off someone at the Comox Airport because their shuttle did not arrive etc.). Your hours on those days may be extended and the sales-related tasks will be reduced/ modified.

Operational: We are a small team. Expect to be cross-trained to be able to help with lectures, emergency assistance in the kitchen/ housekeeping duties and do a guided walk on occasion.

5. Ongoing Professional Training: it's a must to be outstanding at what you do. Additional skills training may include intuitive consulting, sales skills, pre-screening and pre-qualification of prospects, understanding of prescriptions medications and health conditions, IT Systems (Box, Keap, FSPortal, RingCentral) and others.

Note: Expertise sells. As you gain knowledge in both health and program understanding, the sales go up. Additionally, the quality of the clients and their preparation for the program play a huge role in the satisfaction of the team who delivers the service, as well as in the prevention of guest dissatisfaction and related refunds.

To present the program clearly and increase to $30 per hour, you will need to gain a deep understanding of the program, including:

- Current Program Lectures Recordings and Videos Watched/ Studied

- Training with the Program Manager on How the Individualized Therapy Program is Planned, Health Profile Study, Contraindications Planning

- Hands-on work in the kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant: understanding of health protocols, challenges with meal customizations and kitchen interruptions.

- Visits to the Ocean Resort and Oyster Bay Resorts - to have a good understanding of the property, and what's where.

- Experience colon hydrotherapy, health assessment and a few critical treatments - to be able to describe them to the guests (1-on-1 therapies' cost will be covered, but not the treatment time).

You are a natural health professional with a passion for a whole-person healing approach. While you are personable, caring and compassionate, you do know how to get things done timely. You've developed an ability to read people, connect with them and guide them to a decision. You've mastered time management and self-care and know how to prevent being drained when speaking with severely depressed, angry or distrustful leads.

You've mastered energetic recharges and it greatly helps you stay the course when carrying a significant load of responsibility consistently. Self-care skills are essential here, as we first of all set an example to our clients who come to get well, and secondly, because our team is small, we depend on each other. You don't mind pitching in and helping the team when short-staffed, be it office, kitchen or housekeeping.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURE:

This is the position of responsibility. While some sales decreases are acceptable, if they drastically or consistently drop, and the Consultant is not able to reach sales goals/ sustain the momentum, he/she may be either put on a temporal lay-off with 1 week's notice or terminated. Quality self-care/ burnout prevention, and lead follow-up are critical components of success in this position.
