We are looking for applicants with mechanical abilities, people who are good with their hands and someone able to work outdoors and be on their feet for most of the day.

• This position will be responsible for preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, air and hydraulic brake repairs, steering & suspension, electrical diagnostics, etc. all on medium and heavy-duty trucks.
  
• Complete all required reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
  
• Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner at ALL times; wear all required safety equipment; follow all safety guidelines; perform all required safety inspections; notify the Shop Manager immediately of any potential or current safety problems.
  
• Drive repaired or broken equipment when necessary.
  
• Perform any miscellaneous duties requested by the Shop Manager which may include, but is not limited to, cleaning up around the plant, picking up equipment or supplies, training another employee, and filling in for an absent employee.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude is preferred, mechanical experience is not required.
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have basic knowledge of the components and mechanics of trucks, tractor trailers, pickups, cars, heavy equipment, mounted equipment, shop equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day to install components on equipment.
• Must be able to lay on back to work under a vehicle on a creeper.
• Must be able to work in outside weather conditions all year round.
• Must be able to push and pull equipment such as wheel dolly jacks, cherry pickers, transmission jacks and jacks for lifting trucks.
• Speak and write clear English
• Forklift licence (Not required but an asset)
• Commercial Trailer experience an asset
• Wiring experience and asset
