What you'll do
Provide great customer service, responding to customer questions and comments
Scan products and process customer transactions accurately
Support in the delivery of company-directed promotions and programs
Handle cash and credit card transactions
Keep the register area neat and stocked with essential supplies
Assist customers with general inquiries
Packaging and wrapping produce
Displaying the fruit and vegetables, dairy products for sale
Setting up pricing displays and updating pricing specials
Removing and storing produce at the end of the day
Identifying and removing from sale any damaged items
Answering price queries from other staff members
Maintaining safe and hygienic food standards and practices
Washing and cleaning displays and the produce area at the end of the day
Assisting in new employee orientation and training
Assisting in inventory control and ordering
Receiving and checking produce deliveries
Who you are?
Stamina: Produce clerks may be on their feet for extended periods over the day, which requires a high degree of stamina.
Strength: Produce Clerks are responsible for moving fruit and vegetables and dairy products around the department and displaying them, requiring physical strength for lifting trays, sacks, bags weighing up to 30 kg.
Customer Service: Produce Clerk works in a customer facing role, interacting with customers and answering queries in a friendly and knowledgeable way.
Communication: Effective communication is essential for this role.
Attention to detail: Produce Clerk ensures effective display of the produce and correct pricing display.
Safety Standards and Food Hygiene knowledge is an essential skill.
A team player with good communication skills
Adaptable in a fast-paced work environment
Resourceful and courteous when resolving inquiries
Motivated to learn new things and delivering great customer service
What you bring:
Flexibility to work a variety of hours which may include days, evenings, and weekends
Able to move 30kgs and remain in a stationary or standing position for entire shifts
