The Opportunity

The Licensing Assistant will be responsible for entering applications, processing trainee applications and changes in authorizations to represent, in accordance with governing legislation, Council guidelines, policies and department procedures This is a 4 month contract role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input individual and corporate applications and all relevant data into the licensing system as and when required.
  • Process changes in authorizations to represent, in accordance with governing legislation, Council guidelines, policies and department procedures.
  • Process trainee applications, in accordance with governing legislation, Council guidelines, policies and department procedures.
  • Prepare and issue standard correspondence to trainee applicants and licensees regarding outstanding requirements, and clarification of licensing requirements.
  • Remain up to date on all Council legislation and procedures.
  • Assist with licensing inquiries (written, virtual and in-person) as and when required.
  • Document all pertinent telephone calls and meetings in licensee/applicant's file on the Licensing system.
  • Handle other duties as assigned by the Licensing Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Two to three years in an administrative and/or customer service position.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Attention to detail is a crucial skill required for this role.
  • Excellent word processing skills with a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Good time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.

Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting salary between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the salary range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position . In some circumstances, the new employee may be eligible for compensation beyond the P50 of the salary range. Factors that influence this decision include full job knowledge, qualifications, internal equity, and experience in a similar role.
