This is position is based in a Grande Prairie on a full-time basis. Travel to other Sinopec Canada assets will be required.

Primary Purpose of Position:


Reporting to the Director, HSE, the HSE Advisor will provide guidance, direction and support to the facilities and construction
groups, field employees, supervisors and management in regards to HSE best practices, legislation and other related
inquiries. This position will be responsible for various tasks including but not limited to:


Roles and Responsibilities:


• Conduct field‐based worksite safety audits including HSE management systems and implementation of policies and
procedures.
• Conduct detailed incident investigations identifying direct and indirect causes, implement and manage corrective
actions to prevent re-occurrences.
• Develop and maintain a process that identifies regulatory and industry trends and changes within Health, Safety &
Environment.
• Ensure that employees, contractors, site supervisors, and service vendors understand and conduct all operational
activities in compliance with corporate expectations and requests.
• Provide technical assistance when required on HSE‐related matters.
• Revise and implement standards, procedures and programs, as required.
• Conduct field safety inspections and worksite evaluation, participate in field‐based safety meetings, tool box and
pre‐project meetings.
• Provide accurate, reliable and verifiable reports and statistics regarding HSE incidents and accidents.
• Coach and mentor field personnel in Risk Management / Hazard Assessments.
• Support, mentor and train personnel as it relates to Health & Safety procedures/best practices.
• Cascade and implement new HSE policies, regulations, Headquarter requests etc.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Position Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


• A collaborative team player with excellent communication, influence and leadership skills.
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge in the Microsoft Office/Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel).
• Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety Regulations.
• Proven experience with investigations, inspections, audits and safety management systems.
• Strong delivery on quality results in a deadline‐driven work environment.
• Strong ability to be proactive and take initiative to identify and address improvements or needs.
• Keen awareness and ability to collaborate in a diverse international workplace environment.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with the HSE team and organizational leaders.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a project team.
• Able to work in a field and office environment (travel required within Alberta).
• Ability to be flexible with a willingness to work weekends and holidays, as needed.
• High level of integrity in all actions, complying with and promoting the company's core values, a respectful work
environment, and aligning with the code of business conduct.


Qualifications:


• Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the oilfield industry.
• 3‐5 years of progressive work experience in facility construction, production or drilling & completion.
• 3‐5 years of progressive HSE advisory experience in facility construction, production or drilling & completion.
• CRSP designation, NCSO or Occupational Health & Safety Certification would be considered an asset.
• Must be legally qualified to work in Canada.
