Our Supply Chain Team is expanding, and we are looking for a Transportation & Logistics Specialist!
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is responsible for leading inbound & outbound transportation systems focused on a few key areas; Leadership, Transportation & Vendor Management, Customs Compliance, Performance Monitoring & Reporting, Strategic Planning, and Continuous Improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Vendor Management, Strategic Planning, Team Leadership
- Lead and drive relationships with suppliers, carriers, and logistics service providers.
- Negotiate rates and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings and service level improvements.
- Develop and implement strategies and plans to optimize our supply chain and meet organizational objectives.
- Analyze processes, identify and implement areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Collaborate across departments (procurement, production, sales) to align logistics activities with business goals.
- Identify opportunities to optimize transportation processes and improve efficiency.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Requirements
WHAT YOU HAVE:
- Experience in transportation and logistics management in a enterprise level manufacturing or distribution environment.
- A strong knowledge of transportation regulations & industry best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software & tools, such as transportation management systems (TMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS),
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- APICS and or CPIM certifications would be an asset.
