Position Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is an integrated member of the interdisciplinary care team and is responsible for providing direct Resident care within the scope of practice as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA), the Continuing Competency Program (CCP), and as noted in the Collaborative Care Model. The LPN participates in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care and adheres to the Park Place Seniors Living Policy and Procedure Manual. The Licensed Practical Nurse functions independently and works under the guidance of the Resident Care Manager to further provide leadership, support and direction to Mental Health Aides on an ongoing basis. Responsible for current and valid registration. This is an AUPE unionized position.

Qualifications:

  • LPN registered with C.L.P.N.A. in good standing
  • Valid C.P.R. certificate and First Aid certification (Standard or Emergency First Aid)
  • Clear criminal record security clearance with Vulnerable Sector included (no more than 6 months old)
  • Must be physically fit to perform lifting and transferring and able to be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Appropriately dressed – nursing uniform
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in the English language
  • Must be able to work independently, and as part of the interdisciplinary team

Other considerations:

All PPE is provided, and the facility is following enhanced Infection and prevention controls.

Applicants must be fully vaccinated for Covid -19 and have an up-to-date Flu Shot vaccination.
