We seek a friendly, pleasant, reliable experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare administration and exceptional organizational skills, prioritizing skills, and communication skills. As a Medical Receptionist, you will manage incoming patient appointments, and incoming phone calls, handle administrative tasks, and provide excellent customer service to our patients. This position based in our busy Respiratory medical clinic in Sherwood Park to start immediately.

Full time Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, no evenings or weekends required.

Responsibilities: This position will appeal to a motivated multitasker, with exceptional attention to detail, who has previous medical customer service experience in a medical office.

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and external parties
  • Verify patient information and insurance details
  • Process patient registrations and update electronic medical records
  • Handle payment processing
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or similar role in a healthcare setting Preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and insurance protocols
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in EMR systems (Health Quest) and MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong phone manner dealing with a busy multi-line phone system in a professional manner
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
  • Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Cleaning, Inventory management and shipping/receiving of medical equipment experience is an asset

Daily duties and responsibilities will include main reception answering a busy multi line phone system efficiently and professionally, receiving and checking in patients and walk in customers, administrative duties, scanning and linking into an EMR system. The reception duties also include tasks such as confirming appointments, assisting with booking appointments and data entry. A strong candidate would be someone who enjoys dealing with the public and has an excellent phone manner. Preference will be given to a critical thinker and problem solver who is able to work independently and also closely with co-workers when required.

Candidates familiar with HealthQuest EMR and 1+ year medical experience will be given priority. This position would suit someone that is reliable, customer oriented and is comfortable dealing with people on the phone and in person.
