ROLE SUMMARY

SunGrid is seeking an experienced Development Project Manager to be a key member in the Project Development team. This position will be responsibile for leading projects through SunGrid's Front-End Loading (FEL) process and will work with Estimating, Engineering, Construction, Legal and other departments to prepare projects ahead of Execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and management of schedules and risk registers with the support of Project Controls (schedulers) and Risk managers.
  • Draft the scope of work and identify deliverables, draft initial Project Delivery Plan (PDP), and develop draft resource plan needed to complete the project.
  • Support development of Scope of Work (SoW) and input needed for the development of the Project Delivery Plan (PDP).
  • Coordinate and provide the information required to the FEL Gate Review Committee (GRC) for review and approval, describing the status of the projects and the different possible scenarios representing the Projects team.
  • Ensure the successful transition of the ‘Opportunity' to the execution PM (no loose ends, good understanding by PM of contract terms & conditions/pricing/construction bounds/constraints/agreements, etc.).
  • Be the interface between the business development and project teams including but not limited to Strategic Sourcing, Project Controls,Estimating, Engineering, Business Development, and Finance.
  • Assists with technical due diligence in conjunction with other departments.
    • Ensures process feedback mechanisms are implemented and utilized to identify proces efficiencies and improvements, including process and fuctional quality audits and focus on Company strategic initiatives
  • Responsible for effectively forecasting the Company's capital budget spending on assigned projects.
  • Support the contract management team in contract negotiation with suppliers
  • Estimate the duration of each project step to prevent delays due to human error. Develop, maintain, evaluate, and readjust the schedule as necessary to ensure timely delivery through the FEL processes.
  • Assist in performing risk evaluation by identifying and responding to potential issues throughout the FEL processes.
  • Define contingency and management reserve needs and plans, and establish drawdown plans aligned with the risk register.
  • Ensure proper communication concerning changes in established milestones or challenges that may affect the outcome of a project.
  • Lead regular meetings with all departments to ensure open communication and expectations throughout the FEL processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Project Management or Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in project management, preferably within the Energy field, with development experience being an asset.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, risk management, and project planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  • Experience supporting EPC contract negotiations.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and drive project progress effectively.
