Job Description

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Event Manager is accountable for the day to day operations of the event space, including staffing, cost controls, staff training, budgeting, administration and active floor management during service.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communicate the vision to all team members and leads by example. Reinforce the O&B values daily and inspires the team with his/her exciting vision for the future
  • Demonstrate inspired quality for events and Catering events.
  • Nurture a strong relationship with our hotel partners
  • Ensures O&B branding is consistent for Events/Catering functions
  • Works closely with business partners in Blue Mountain Resort to sell and manage Event Bookings
  • Responsible for Events/Catering post mortems and post action reviews
  • Coordination of off-site and special event rentals
  • Open table maintenance
  • Liaison with BMR Sales, including account reconciliation
  • Conducts recruitment and selection and training and development initiatives as well as performance management and employee coaching for the event staff
  • Strive for maximum efficiency and continual improvement of staff productivity
  • Menu planning with chef for events & catering menus
  • Works closely with overall operation including working onsite to manage events and overseeing dining room service when necessary
  • Responsible for billing accuracy and Event BEO's organization and reconciliation
  • Additional duties as assigned or required
Qualifications

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate extreme organization and a hands-on execution of service in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large and variable work load, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assigned work
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong business acumen
  • Team player
