Our client, located in Brantford, is seeking a full-time permanent Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor who holds a leadership role within the quality assurance team responsible for overseeing and coordinating tasks to ensure the safety and quality of food products. This position involves managing day-to-day activities, executing quality control measures, and ensuring all departments follow relevant regulations and procedures to ensure compliance.Salary $55,000 - $60,000Location: Brantford, ONHours of work: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with flexibility to work extra hours when required.Key Accountabilities:
- Implement written food safety & quality management programs.
- Hands-on involvement by communicating imminent QA findings and issues to respective departments and management teams.
- Leads and supervises the QA team, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provides guidance, training, and mentorship to QA staff.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on food safety practices and quality standards.
- Implement the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems to control potential food safety hazards throughout the production process.
- Implement quality procedures to ensure that products meet or exceed established quality standards.
- Validate regular inspections and on-site verification on production processes, raw materials, and finished products to identify and address any deviations from quality standards.
- Ensure compliance while providing input and feedback on food safety and quality assurance policies and procedures in accordance with company & regulatory standards.
- Conducts inspections, and internal audits, monitors processes, and addresses immediate quality concerns.
- Prepare the QA team for external audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and third-party organizations.
- Implement updated records, organize information, and ensure compliance with record-keeping requirements.
- Initiate corrective action responses, customer complaint reports, and any relevant reports.
- Conduct investigations and gather information for food safety incidents, customer complaints, and non-conformances.
- Verifies food safety culture assessments, various risk assessments, food fraud assessments, food defense programs, complaint investigations, and external audits.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, sanitation, maintenance, and other departments to address immediate quality and safety concerns.
- Implementation for process improvement, and corrective and preventive actions to enhance overall food safety and quality performance.
- Assists during crisis management to organize all relevant documentation, for flow or sequence.
- HACCP & SQF Certified.
- College or University degree in applicable field of study.
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of QC Tech floor experience in the fresh food environment.
- Self-driven, self-directed, and proactive in the execution of daily duties and responsibilities, results oriented with a positive outlook.
- Detail-oriented and determined.
- Must be adept in the use of MS Office 2003 or later, particularly Excel and Word, internet, and email.
- Literacy - excellent communication skills in English. and Numeracy - Good mathematic skills are necessary (adding, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
