The Hydrogen Business Development Analyst position is an exciting opportunity to shape the frontier of the energy transition in Ontario. Working with the entire Hydrogen team, and supporting other exciting development opportunities at Atura Power, the successful candidate will be instrumental in helping to identify and advance new project opportunities to support Atura's broader decarbonization goals on the pathway towards net-zero emissions.

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Hydrogen Business Development Manager, the Hydrogen Business Development Analyst is responsible for the supporting the identification, assessment, and execution of hydrogen business development activities including for Atura Power.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Understand the “green” and “low-carbon” hydrogen markets, value chains, hydrogen hubs and government policy and incentive schemes
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure early engagement in target hydrogen opportunities
  • Lead identification, customer relationship management, supporting negotiations and deal closure
  • Advanced financial modeling and analysis of project opportunities and new facilities
  • Preparation of government funding applications and proposals
  • Review and understand new technology opportunities (i.e., electrolyzers) in hydrogen market
  • Key skills include: financial analysis, thorough research, critical thinking, collaboration, clear and concise verbal and written communication and presentation
  • Key duties include: financial analysis, deal analysis, conducting research, interpreting, and reporting on market and target company findings, making recommendations consistent with the company's growth objectives and strategy, and maintaining records

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree in Finance, Business, Chemical Engineering or Economics is required; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), is considered an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hydrogen business development (or similar market), clean energy business development, or financial modeling
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of PC-based computer systems and software applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a business-minded and results-oriented business development professional who has the following:

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is team player with strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once while prioritizing to meet deadlines
  • Experience in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with clients and partner relationships
  • Experience in advanced financial modeling of new project opportunities
  • Understanding of electrolyzer market and technologies is an asset
  • Understanding of hydrogen market and value chain is an asset
