Why we have this role:

As a Regional Sales Manager for Fortified Nutrition Limited, you will continue to successfully develop and grow livestock nutrition feed sales for the division. In this role, you will be responsible for building, leading, and coaching the team of Livestock Business Consultants in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana. In addition to this, you will work closely with the team on enabling Fortified Nutrition to acquire new business and for individual consultants to acquire new swine and poultry key accounts with the necessary delivery, service, and sales support. If you are a solid people manager, have a background working in animal nutrition, predominantly pigs and birds, and have a passion for the industry, we'd love to hear from you!

Working with us:

Given the nature of your role leading and supporting our sales team and customers nationally, you will travel across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and into Montana. Out of province travel will also be required, for company wide sales team meetings or events as requested.

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be based out of your home office with the requirement to travel where needed. FNL has offices in Lethbridge and Red Deer Alberta and Swift Current Saskatchewan as well as a warehouse in Shelby Montana that you will visit when needed.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, manage, and coach the sales team across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana by establishing targets, setting expectations, and overseeing team performance.
  • Lead and assist team members in prospecting new business and maintaining strong relationships by developing target lists, conducting regular regional sales meetings, and overseeing execution.
  • Establish growth and support plans to ensure existing key accounts are receiving regular visits while resolving any customer issues that arise in an effective and timely manner.
  • Strive to increase average sales per account over time, and other key metrics, by adopting new premixes and feed additives into the product portfolio, while maintaining high levels of communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Promote new product developments and establish a strategy to trial experimental products with customers in the field, working with the nutrition and marketing teams to ensure alignment with the company's commercial objectives.
  • Interview, onboard and train new team members, as required.
  • Attend and participate in industry events, including trade shows, conferences, and other community events while professionally representing the company.
  • Ensure the timely submission of relevant documents and proper record keeping of sales activities.

Your background includes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, or a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role in animal feed or nutritional products.
  • A thorough understanding of swine management in Western Canada from farrow to finish, is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to frequently travel across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Montana, and periodically within Canada and the United States.
  • Experience working with Hutterite colonies.
