Position Overview: Director, Influencer Marketing (NOC 10022)


We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Influencer Marketing to lead our influencer marketing efforts here at Ground News. The ideal candidate will have a passion for influencer culture, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and a proven track record of executing successful influencer campaigns. This individual will play a critical role in shaping our brand's image, increasing our online presence, and driving customer engagement through strategic influencer partnerships.


This is a full time and permanent position. You will report to head office in Kitchener; however, this is a remote position so you are able to work in any province of Canada. You will work 40 hours per week in a 9-5 capacity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive influencer marketing strategies that align with overall marketing objectives and brand messaging.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with relevant influencers, content creators, and industry thought leaders across various social media platforms.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with influencers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and deliverables.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content and assets for influencer collaborations, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of influencer campaigns and optimize strategies for maximum impact.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in influencer marketing, and recommend innovative approaches to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5+ influencer marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Co-develop team KPIs, strategize and implement practices to effectively reach and maintain goals
  • Co-lead onboarding new team members
  • Budgetary responsibility: $100,001 - $500,000

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in influencer marketing, with a demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful influencer campaigns
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and influencer culture. Plus experience in online or traditional publishing preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with influencers and key stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset and the ability to develop innovative influencer marketing strategies.
  • Experience managing a team and leading cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in analytics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree.
