Job Description

Our client, a leader in his field looking for an experienced Data Architect with 4+ years in a similar role. The company, located in the Greater Toronto Area, is growing its team and they need you. Please be advised that this role is a full-time, contract role, with 2 days WFH.

Your experience you bring will include:

· Data Architecture - strong GCP, SQL, and Python skills and a solid understanding of data modeling

· Retail experience

· Google Cloud Certification is preferred

· Industry-specific knowledge is a plus

Your responsibilities will include:

Design, develop, and maintain data architecture solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to meet business requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance

Utilize strong SQL skills to design and optimize database structures and queries

Create and maintain data models, schemas, and structures optimized for performance and efficiency within GCP services

Design and implement ETL processes to clean, transform, and prepare data for analysis and consumption

Optimize data pipelines, queries, and workloads to improve performance, reduce latency, and minimize costs

Required Skills/Experience

· Strong experience working with SQL and Python

· Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Dataflow, and Airflow in a production environment

· Solid understanding of solution architecture principles, as well as ETL processes, data modeling and database design

Nice to Have:

· Retail experience

· Google Cloud Certification is preferred.
