Job Title: Senior Software Engineering Practice LeadJob ID: AT6774512725Location: Richmond, BCOverview:This Engineer is required to assess and steward software engineering practices and products, make recommendations on improvements to empower software development, testing, and operations and maintain a high-quality bar. The Software Engineering Practice Lead in the common engineering system will have a healthy DevOps mindset, experience with software engineering products and products, an appetite to empower engineering, promote continuous innovation and learning, steward guardrails and practices, and encourage a respectful and collaborative culture. You will participate in and lead improvements of our engineering practices, process, and products through active collaboration with communities of enablement, communities of practice, dojos, working groups, their technical company blog, and engineering workshops. This role requires a hunger to automate everything automatable and the curiosity to make innovative recommendations for our common engineering ecosystem.What you will be doing:
  • Assess and steward software engineering practices and products
  • Make recommendations on improvements to empower software development testing and operations
  • Maintain a high-quality bar
What you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and 8+ years of work experience in a similar role
  • At least 6 years of work experience in Agile environments, in a similar role
  • Practical expertise in software engineering practices, especially the Microsoft stack
  • Practical experience in cloud native computing, including micro-services, open source, containers, PaaS, and IaaS
  • Practical experience in multiple programming languages and frameworks, such as C#, PowerShell, TypeScript, and .NET Core
  • Practical experience in paradigms such as object-oriented, procedural, functional, and declarative programming
  • Poise and professionalism in all communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Practical experience in process modeling and value stream mapping
  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently in a challenging, remote, and fast-paced engineering environment
  • Experience with Azure DevOps Services
  • Experience with GitHub Enterprise
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) training and certification like SAFe Practitioner, or willingness to take the course and obtain certification within 2 months from commencement of work
  • Able to comply with Employee and Contractor Mandatory Vaccine Policy
