What you will be doing
- Lead and manage diverse accounting functions, including but not limited to, tax management (e.g., tobacco tax, sugar tax, HST, bottle deposit tax), financial reporting, and vendor relations.
- Provide expertise and guidance on financial matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and initiatives.
- Review current accounting processes and help setup and/or improve processes.
- Prepare and generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and/or compile and submit monthly and annual vendor reports, maintaining positive relationships and facilitating smooth transactions.
- Oversee and/or conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the integrity and precision of financial records, promptly addressing discrepancies as needed.
What you will bring
- Proven track record in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex financial processes and driving results.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., IBM I-series) is advantageous, with a strong willingness to adapt and learn new systems as necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, financial analysis, and record-keeping
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
