As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing various accounting functions and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and success..

What you will be doing

  • Lead and manage diverse accounting functions, including but not limited to, tax management (e.g., tobacco tax, sugar tax, HST, bottle deposit tax), financial reporting, and vendor relations.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on financial matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Review current accounting processes and help setup and/or improve processes.
  • Prepare and generate detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and/or compile and submit monthly and annual vendor reports, maintaining positive relationships and facilitating smooth transactions.
  • Oversee and/or conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the integrity and precision of financial records, promptly addressing discrepancies as needed.

What you will bring

  • Proven track record in accounting or finance roles, demonstrating proficiency in managing complex financial processes and driving results.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., IBM I-series) is advantageous, with a strong willingness to adapt and learn new systems as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, financial analysis, and record-keeping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dynamic team, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
