Job Purpose:
A warehouse associate is a member of a team responsible for providing logistical support and ensuring accurate order delivery to both internal and external customers in a timely manner. The goal is to work closely with customer service and sales departments to maintain customer satisfaction, trust, and confidence, ultimately leading to long-lasting business relationships through efficient and timely services.
Position Summary:
A warehouse associate's primary responsibility is to ensure that all orders reach the customer in a punctual and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving
- Receive, unpack, sort, and shelve new product shipments
- Income inspection
- Data entry of receiving into computer
Picking/Packing
- Quickly and accurately pick, check, pack, and ship product
· Withdraw and scan orders
- Act as a liaison with Customer Service and branch offices as it pertains to warehousing and inventory issues
- Fill gauges
- Equipment rental – incoming/outgoing inspection
- Coordinate salesman deliveries with sales and customer service
- Coordinate movement of inventory between warehouses
- Pick, ship, and enter branch transfers
- Fill truck inventory
- Creation of tags for assemblies and products
- Administrator of shipping system software
- Generating waybills & manifests for carriers
Misc. Tasks within the Warehouse
- Answering shipping calls
- Match backings to packing slips and prioritize orders in bin
- Cut 10' lengths
- Housekeeping/dusting
- Assemble binders
- Assemble STS handouts
- Calculate freight costs/Update freight sheets
- Assist in updating location system
- Monthly safety inspections
- Operate forklift as necessary
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace
- Meet, greet, and assist customers in person at service counter
- Assist in the training of new associates
- Provide shipping coverage as necessary
- Continuously learn product information through Swagelok University
- Calling trucks
