JMT Consultants Inc. is a growing structural consulting firm that is currently seeking a motivated Senior Checker to join our dedicated team. For individuals outside of the Winnipeg area, we offer a relocation expenses package. We will also consider the opportunity to work remotely for the right candidate.
This is an in-house, full-time position that includes a variety of challenges, and continuous learning. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Detailers, and other members of the JMT team, to deliver projects using Tekla Structures accurately and efficiently while ensuring client standards are upheld and company procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:
- Review Tekla models for adherence to the structural and architectural design drawings and specifications, in compliance with applicable standards and building codes.
- Review connection design criteria to ensure drawings adhere to design intent.
- Coordinate with the project team to resolve design discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Any level of knowledge of Tekla Structures
- 5+ years' experience as a Senior Checker – willing to consider candidates who can demonstrate significant experience in a related field
- Experience in structural and miscellaneous steel construction, fabrication, and the ability to read drawings
- Self-motivated and ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal guidance
- Deadline driven with an attention to detail

- Canadian Citizenship/Legally able to work in Canada
