One of our manufacturing clients in Brantford, ON is looking for an Industrial Millwright for their facility.

Shift - Days+Overtime

Responsibilities:

  1. Installation: Install new machinery and equipment according to specifications, blueprints, and safety standards. This may involve assembling, aligning, and leveling machinery components, as well as connecting power sources and testing for proper operation.

  2. Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably. This includes inspecting machinery, lubricating moving parts, replacing worn or defective components, and performing routine adjustments.

  3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify the root cause of equipment failures or malfunctions. Utilize technical knowledge, diagnostic tools, and problem-solving skills to implement effective solutions and restore equipment to working condition.

  4. Repair: Execute repairs on machinery and equipment as needed, either independently or in collaboration with other maintenance personnel. This may involve replacing damaged parts, welding or fabricating components, and reassembling machinery to restore functionality.

  5. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards. Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, inspection reports, and inventory of spare parts. Provide documentation for regulatory compliance, equipment history tracking, and future reference.

  7. Training and Collaboration: Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and production personnel to share knowledge, provide technical support, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Stay updated on emerging technologies, equipment upgrades, and best practices through training programs and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in millwright or mechanical maintenance is preferred.

  • Proven experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machining, and precision measurement tools.
