Job Title: Planner / Scheduler Job ID: MK558813624Location: North Vancouver, BCWhat you will be doing:
  • Liaise with Architectural Lead Designer, Construction Manager, Project Manager and client planning staff to develop Work Packages and Fully Resourced Integrated Plan of Works to suit critical path and key milestone dates
  • Assist Project Management in benchmarking and developing lean manufacturing techniques as part of continuous improvement
  • Update base programs to show / report actual progress and identify any slippages
  • Provide Recovery plans by way of acceleration and / or change in critical paths
  • Reschedule plans to include change management and to show ‘cause and effect' of changes in program terms
  • Provide timely weekly / monthly progress reports including all ‘S' curves and labour histograms to meet company / contractual / project requirements and in monitoring project performance
  • Provide Productivity and Cost Report Information to support Commercial Function
  • Provide Weekly / Monthly Manning Level and Cost Forecast Lookahead
  • Assist estimating / proposals team in preparation of fully resourced tender program to ensure that offer is presentable and achievable
  • Provide resource planning for both trade and management structure to take into account current and anticipated workload
  • Provide planning assistance to procurement and commercial depts in developing project procurement plan and strategies
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors pre and post contract to ensure program / planning compliance • Update base program schedules to show / report actual progress and identify any slippages • Provide critical path and forensic data analysis to commercial dept in support of extension of time defence / entitlement and additional cost justification
  • Standardize Planning and Progress Monitoring Function for future projects experience:
  • Manufacturing and production planning
  • Production scheduling
  • Work in a fast-paced operation
What you must have:
  • 4-5+ years of related planning experience in engineering or construction
  • Primavera P6 Skills
  • MS Excel Skills
  • Knowledge Skills
  • MS Project Skills
  • PowerPoint Skills
  • SharePoint Skills
  • Must be team oriented
  • Must be receptive to constructive criticism
  • May be required to inspect work progress in a ship under construction
  • Must be willing to assist with other administrative duties on an as required basis
