Position: Operations Administrator

Created in 1997, Women in Resource Development Corporation (WRDC) is a provincial non-profit organization committed to increasing women's participation in trades and technology. With private and public funding, WRDC offers a variety of programs and services to address the challenges surrounding the attraction, recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in these careers. Our charitable arm, the Educational Resource Centre (ERC), was created in 2002, to provide hands-on learning and career exploration opportunities for younger women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Director, People & Operations, the Operations Administrator will provide administrative and operational support to the organization and strive to maximize operational productivity. This may include working in one or more sub-specialties, such as information management, coordination, logistics, procurement etc. A sophisticated level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion is crucial for success in this role. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Management and maintenance of WRDC's external server, as well as several information databases ensuring document control processes are followed.
  • Follow established policies and procedures to provide timely operational support to the team.
  • Organize and procure materials, supplies and equipment for teams and programs.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, conference booking and various registrations as required.
  • Organize and coordinate internal and external WRDC events; Provide logistical and IT support as needed.
  • Consult on technology functionality improvements and liaise with external IT supports.
  • Assist in the implementation and troubleshooting of network and virtual infrastructure for local and remote office and staff locations.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers on network, hardware, and software solutions.
  • Support the Operations team with onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Provide training and support to the team on WRDC systems and software on an ongoing basis.
  • Other duties as required.

What you will bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration or related discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in information management and document control procedures.
  • Sophisticated level of communication skills (oral & written).
  • Strong organizational capabilities, managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, working effectively within the WRDC team and external vendors.
  • High degree of computer literacy and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive etc.)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, collaborate and work effectively in a team environment; flexibility to meet workload demands.
  • Familiarity with digital engagement tools, working virtually with remote team members.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize and problem-solve in dynamic situations.
  • Experience as a SharePoint Administrator is considered an asset.
  • High regard for quality, accuracy, attention to detail.
  • Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check is required upon employment and every two years thereafter.

The Operations Administrator WRDC is a full-time salaried position with a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects the value we have for our team. Salary Range: $38,000 - $48,000 per annum. WRDC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and skills.
