Located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, we are experiencing rapid global growth. GIT is currently recruiting to fulfill this accounting role to further support the scale up of the Company.

What we offer

GIT recognizes the importance of continuing education, and as such, this position is eligible for reimbursement of tuition fees for CPA PEP courses and student dues while in the PEP program. Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience with an expected salary range of $45,000-$55,000 per year.


Key responsibilities

  • Receive, code, and input invoices for various departments and/or subsidiaries
  • Perform AP and AR reconciliations, follow-up on outstanding receipts, invoices, etc.
  • Perform weekly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
  • Reconcile credit card transactions
  • Update budget to actuals based on spend on a regular basis
  • Prepare and send invoices to customers
  • Completion of month-end reporting files with assistance from Accounting Manager
  • Populate monthly and quarterly financial statements, reporting, and other ad-hoc reports as required by the Accounting Manager or other indirect supervisors
  • Assist with preparation for year-end audits, including working papers, pulling support, or other tasks as required
  • Collect documentation for 3-way match controls from purchasing, receiving, and other departments as required
  • Set up EFT/wire or other payments in online banking platform for review by Accounting Manager or VP Finance
  • Other duties as required

What we're looking for

As the ideal candidate, you have an undergraduate degree in accounting and are keen to grow with an innovative, motivated team at a high pace.

You will also possess:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with accounting software would be an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, analyze data, and resolve complex problems
  • Self-starter, with proven time-management and problem-solving skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines
