Purpose of Position:The Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer will work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to build, maintain, and deploy reference architectures and operational systems for our cloud platform. They will make sure to follow security best practices and design security into everything they do. They will be a key driver in the automation and monitoring of processes, services and deployments related to our cloud presence. They will utilize modern DevSecOps principles such as Infrastructure as Code and Containerization for the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment of our Cloud Applications and Infrastructure.
Major Areas of Responsibility:- Develop Infrastructure as Code for repeatable and scalable cloud infrastructure using industry standards like Terraform.
- Build, deploy, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform or similar.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code for repeatable and scalable cloud infrastructure using industry standards like Terraform.
- Design and Implement CI/CD Pipelines for cloud-based applications .
- Automate processes and deployments of applications and infrastructure using Kubernetes and containerization.
- Implement observability, management processes, and disaster recovery for Cloud operations to provide high availability, ensure scalability, and provide monitoring and alerting [including costs and infrastructure].
- Enforce security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding sensitive data and intellectual property.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer or Electrical preferred) or Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and DevOps principles
- Experience managing, developing, and deploying cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
- 2 plus years experience with containerization and deployment using Kubernetes and Docker
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity industry standards such as NIST or CIS.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as Linux Bash, PowerShell, and Python
- Relevant certifications in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (Google Cloud Platform) are a plus.
- Experience with IaaC technologies such as Azure ARM/Bicep or AWS (Amazon Web Services) CloudFormation experience a plus.
- Relevant certifications in Cybersecurity are a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies a plus.
- Knowledge of service meshes is a plus.
- Occasional travel may be required.
