Position Overview

At KMBR our team is our greatest asset and we always seek to hire the most talented people in the architectural industry. For an intermediate architect, we offer unique opportunities to develop skills in client relationships, team management, and construction contract administration. Team members are involved in all project phases, focusing on design development through production of drawings, construction administration, site review and project close-out. While we are looking for people who are specifically suited to our immediate needs, we support and encourage each individual's professional development goals and long-term growth at KMBR, for the right candidate there are no limits to what this opportunity could develop into.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and production of architectural designs, drawings and specifications for various projects
  • Assist Design Manager in all project phases
  • Preparation of presentation materials using 3D software
  • Research materials, technical details through library and manufacturers
  • Conduct research on sustainable products may be required
  • Assist in review of shop drawings
  • Manage project timelines and budgets
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members

Requirements

  • A combination of talent and technical skills in design projects
  • At least 5 years of experience within an architectural firm (Experience in education or other institutional projects is an asset)
  • Building Science/Architectural Technology diploma (min. 2-year program)
  • Construction documentation experience, including coordination and working drawings
  • Excellent knowledge of the BC Building Code
  • Working knowledge of specifications
  • Excel in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Work well as a team member and independently
  • Translate design intent into construction detailing
  • Manage a variety of complex projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expert with REVIT
  • A high degree of attention to detail
  • LEED accreditation is an asset
