Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find a Senior Contracts Specialist for a 6 month contract. Reporting to the Manager, Contracts and Sourcing, this individual will develop, analyze, negotiate, and administer services or materials contracts in accordance with our business practices. They will take a lead role in the competitive bid process, including RFP development, supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation and award while minimizing commercial and legal risk. This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of best practice sourcing and contracting strategies and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing:

  • Conduct market and industry research and spend analysis.
  • Develop sourcing strategies to align with our client's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Conduct competitive bid processes, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in cross-company aggregated procurement events as our client's sourcing contact with affiliates.

Contracts:

  • Create, manage, and maintain contracts for materials and services.
  • Be a subject matter expert on our client's contracting processes and systems.
  • Understand commercial, legal and risk impacts and provide advice to the business.
  • Manage contract changes, amendments, warranty claims and dispute resolution.

Leadership:

  • Establish cross functional collaboration teams and lead the business units and the rest of the procurement team in areas of sourcing and contracting.
  • Perform peer review on contracts and RFP artifacts for other Supply Chain team members.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage deliverables.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with internal departments and suppliers to understand business requirements and ensure supplier performance against those needs.
  • Achieve continuous improvement in the procurement of materials and services and supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with business unit key stakeholders and suppliers to develop, implement, and continuously improve a cross-functional supplier performance management framework.

Process / Governance

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of our client's contracting and procurement processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance to our client's contracts, sourcing and purchasing control.

Requirements
  • University degree or College diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or other related disciplines.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or equivalent procurement certification, is required and must be a member in good standing.
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience, 10 or more years preferred, demonstrating increasing responsibility for the development and execution of complex and strategic sourcing strategies and competitive bid events.
  • Proven ability and experience in the above noted responsibilities.
  • Strong computing skills in MS Office Applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and experience with Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise.
  • Experience in SAP with requisitions and purchasing would be considered an asset.
  • Work experience demonstrates competency and increasing level of responsibility in strategic sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Project procurement experience in an EPC environment preferred.
  • Background in electrical utilities industry an asset.
  • Experience in contract development and understanding of legal terms and conditions.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and leading sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Cross functional leadership and team development skills.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations, teaching, and coaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of the organization with high level of personal credibility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for spotting opportunities for efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Results oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interface with team members and customers to promote positive customer outcomes.
  • Proven track record of good job performance and attendance.
