Regional Sales Manager

Overview:

Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for performing all sales functions for new permanent elevators and after-sales sales opportunities within his/her region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet, as a minimum, the established Sales Budget for the region as assigned for existing business segments.
  • Meet with and maintain close and professional relationships with all customers in assigned region.
  • Responsibility for all “non-plant location” home office relationships (Utility home offices, Architect Engineers & Constructors, Major Equipment OEMs, etc.). Also, responsible for selling directly to plants for new, retrofit applications, or after-sales opportunities.
  • Specify and solicit business in accordance with established product lines.
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of the company's products, applicable codes, and installation methods.
  • Develop & maintain the capability to survey a job site, and with blueprints and customer specs, develop accurate estimates.
  • Attending pre-bid and job site meetings.
  • Interpret equipment specifications and prepare bid packages in a professional manner, including proposals and pricing for each bid according to established procedures, including obtaining subcontractor quotes as required.
  • Update and keep current on all outstanding customer proposals, and keep company reports & logs accurate and up to date.
  • Assist in the execution of ongoing contracts within the region as required.
  • Maintain communication updates with Home Office.
  • Assist in preparing yearly/quarterly/monthly budgets and forecasts as required.
  • Keep Management informed of events which will or could affect the local or corporate business and recommend actions to be considered.
  • Safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of Alimak's Technical, Commercial, Business Plans and any other internal documents or information which is the property of Alimak Group.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of outside sales experience
  • Experience selling industrial equipment in a heavy industry or construction industry
  • Knowledge of industrial elevators or any vertical access solutions a plus
  • Degree in mechanical / construction-related or technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to travel in the region 50-75% of the time.
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Construction related discipline a plus
