McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, a family-owned funeral services company that has been part of the Calgary community and leader in the funeral services industry for over 120 years, is seeking a professional and courteous individual to join our dynamic and dedicated Central Reception team. This role supports our 10 locations in the Calgary area and a staff of over 130 amazing people, by providing exceptional customer service via telephone and messaging as the first point of contact for the families we are privileged to serve.

This is a Day shift position, working a 4-days on, 4-days off rotation.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage a multi-line phone system for incoming and outgoing calls
  • Provide exceptional, kind, and empathetic customer service to caller seeking assistance for a loved one's passing
  • Use well-honed active listening skills to capture all relevant details
  • Transfer calls to the appropriate person as required
  • Respond to all website messages and information requests
  • Input call information into planners for team access
  • Assist in calling doctors and Medical Examiners for information regarding releases
  • Support other departments with projects and administration assistance as time allows
  • Other duties as required

What You Bring:

  • Pleasant telephone manner and compassionate, empathetic personality
  • Experience managing a multi-line telephone system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong administration and customer service skills
  • Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • High-level active listening skills
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to manage, assign, and prioritize daily tasks
  • Demonstrated to be highly trustworthy with confidential information
  • Comfortable working independently throughout the night
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays
  • Willing to submit to background check (Security Clearance)
  • Comfortable wearing a company-provided uniform and adhering to company professional image standards
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, punctual, honest, caring, and professional

  • Starting wage of $20.50/hr.
