Compensation range: $30-$35 Hourly CAD

The Compensation Range includes the span between the minimum and maximum base salary. The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum base salary and can be considered for an employee with full job knowledge, required qualifications and experience for the position.

Organizational Status
We are currently looking forward to welcoming a Web Development Instructor Part-time (Morning/and Evening). You will be part of our fantastic team and report directly to the Program Manager. You'll be part of a team of experienced and passionate people who believe in a higher education and work hard behind the scenes to help its students thrive in Canada. You will be helping the students to understand the nature, scope, requirements, and purpose of the course.

Job responsibilities:

  • Create a teaching-learning environment for the Web Development Program.
  • Develop and deliver an effective learning experience using pre-authorized or CICCC-available course resources.
  • Incorporate various teaching/learning methods to meet course objectives.
  • Plan, organize and prepare classes, including developing detailed lesson plans.
  • Develop learning materials that support the learning objectives and planned activities.
  • Instruct Business classes to groups of up to 35 students using a variety of teaching strategies and student assessment methods
  • Prepare, administer, and grade assignments and exams in a timely manner to inform students about their progress
  • Follow the procedures of the admission requirement of student record as per PTIB policy, including progress reports, attendance records, quizzes and exams records, and class time and room scheduling etc.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting all relevant admission data through the Classe 365 student system on a weekly basis.
  • Assist in the provision of daily supervision of students as required or assigned
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the college's and students' changing requirements as conditions may require over time.
  • Responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms.
  • Participate in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the college's quality improvement procedures as required.
  • Follow the instructions of the head instructor and participate in the grading system of the student co-op program.
  • Provide academic support to students inside and outside of the classroom (regularly scheduled office hours, email, group study sessions, etc.).
  • Attend and actively participate in department and faculty meetings, in-service training sessions, and relevant programs as required by the Program Manager and Academic Head.
  • Conduct further research in their specific field for continuous improvement and development to meet the changing needs of the market.
  • Adhere to CICCC's policies and procedures, including being available to students and maintaining the confidentiality of students and information.
  • The instructor must create a positive learning environment by consistently encouraging, motivating, and guiding students to accomplish educational and personal goals, helping them further achieve their professional goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Team.

Supervision Received
Works independently and in collaboration with the Academic Director and Program Manager. The performance is evaluated for efficiency, effectiveness, achievement of objectives, and quality of work.
Supervision Given
Work closely with the Program Manager to provide training to interim and new instructors.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript, Typescript, React, Next, Express, Nest, SQL, NoSQL, Jest, Cypress, HTTP, GraphQL, Git/GitHub, etc.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a web development role.
  • Experience in fast-paced environments, preferably in startups, and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Skilled in using online teaching tools such as Zoom and Slack, along with common workplace software.
  • Strong work ethic, communication- oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural environment
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to new strategies and methodologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Possess creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Committed to starting class promptly at the scheduled time.
