About the Role
The Professional Practice Lead, Concurrent Care is an exciting leadership role created to boost the development of concurrent care programming and continue to support service integration within CASA programs. The Professional Practice Lead will work collaboratively with Clinical Managers and the Clinical Educator to develop programming and supports for the organization.
The Professional Practice Lead, Concurrent Care will:
  • Support the delivery of high-quality clinical services by assessing competency, creating learning and supervision plans, and providing coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision for concurrent care staff.
  • Ensure a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centered, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
  • Update the concurrent care clinical framework as required to ensure it remains in alignment with evidence-informed best practice.
  • Develop and update clinical program descriptions, clinical policies and relevant procedures based on evidence, standards of care and relevant legislation and acts.
  • Identify core competencies and skills for concurrent care staff and associated clinical education needs, collaborating with the Senior Manager of Clinical Practice, Manager of Clinical, and the Clinical Educator to ensure professional development aligns with program expectations/goals.
  • Coordinate, plan and chair monthly Concurrent Care Practice Council meetings.
  • Identify service delivery improvements and suggest enhancements with the lens of evidence-informed practice and CASA strategic and operational plans.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Clinical Practice and the Manager of Business Intelligence and Evaluation to determine program evaluation frameworks, measures and outcomes.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance management and off-boarding of concurrent care staff.
  • Support clinical supply sourcing and procurement as required for concurrent care program (equipment, clinical tools, testing material, etc.).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or addictions treatment required; graduate degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
  • Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
  • Experience in case management across multiple agencies or programs in support of high needs and complex families, children and youth.
  • Knowledge of best practices for concurrent care and case management.
  • Experience working with transient and high-risk youth is an asset.
  • Training and clinical experience with the following approaches is an asset: dialectical behaviour therapy, safety seeking, sensorimotor psychotherapy or other somatic modalities, motivational interviewing, and trauma and attachment-based modalities.

Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
