We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Dev & Support Analyst to join our dynamic IT team and ensure the smooth functioning of our critical business applications and respond to business requests.

Standard Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide tier-3 support for a variety of Microsoft Windows-based applications used within the law firm, including but not limited to Aderant Expert, Microsoft Office Suite (macros & custom templates), document management system, and E-Discovery platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to application functionality, performance, and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain SQL queries, custom scripts, stored procedures and reports to extract data and support reporting needs.
  • Look for opportunities to simplify and automate processes.
  • Proactively monitor application & database performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for several applications, including specialized law firm applications, and offer guidance and training to end-users as needed.
  • Collaborate directly with the support teams and legal professionals to understand business requirements and translate them into effective application solutions.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of software upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Work with technology partners to ensure environment modifications interact appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements.
  • Document support procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing and improve support efficiency.
  • Ensures operations and application users' documentation is current and readily available.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in application support and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an industry-recognized Computer Information Systems program;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development and support, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and upgrading applications in a Windows environment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server, with the ability to write and optimize SQL queries and scripts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot database and server performance issues to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Experience supporting Aderant Expert and experience with legal software applications, document management systems, MS Office productivity tools, and other technology tools commonly used in the legal industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight deadlines.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or other application certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including legal professionals, IT staff, and administrative personnel.
  • This position is required to be on-site in our downtown Vancouver office.
