Summary: Performs inspection, maintenance, and/or restoration of utility infrastructure. Responsible for the direct supervision of field crews while planning, organizing, and coordinating daily field operations on various job types.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage crew to meet safety, quality, production, expense control, and crew management goals.
  • Perform work according to contract specifications including but not limited to excavating soil, inspecting structures, applying preservatives and/or coatings.
  • Maintain good customer and public relations.
  • Organize resources and prioritize work to complete job within established timeframe.
  • Operate vehicle to transport material, equipment, and crew to and from job site.
  • Collect, record, and submit data on a computer device related to work performed.
  • Promote and enforce safety by ensuring safe work practices are followed, monitoring tool condition and maintenance, and ensuring all drivers of company vehicles are “Osmose Qualified.”
  • Enforce and comply with all company and/or customer-required policies and procedures including but not limited to crew member discipline and documentation, a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace, prohibition of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll for crew.
  • Responsible for all vehicles and equipment used by the crew including maintenance of tools and equipment and routine maintenance on vehicles.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); possess some specialized training or at least three (3) months of related work experience. Must successfully complete all aspects of a three (3) to eight (8) week Foreman Training Program.

The length of training is dependent on the Profit Center and/or type of service.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: Prior to operating a vehicle, must successfully complete the Osmose Driver Qualification Program. In addition, to be eligible to operate some company vehicle, the employee must possess a valid driver's license.

Technical Skills: Ability to read maps, understand directions, and utilize handheld GPS device. Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and technical aptitude to learn Osmose applications.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. They must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body. The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may routinely handle and/or apply preservatives and/or coatings. The position regularly works in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with short periods of loud noise exceeding 85 decibels.

Travel: Varies by customer and/or region and can include frequent Monday through Friday overnight travel throughout one or more province. Extended work weeks and overtime hours are probable during peak work periods or for specific jobs. Must maintain consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday.
