Healstone Biotech was founded in 2016 by Canadian researchers in Vancouver, Canada. Healstone is the subsidiary company of Healgen Scientific LLC, which is located in the U.S. Since 2016, Healstone has been developing, manufacturing, and supplying immunological reagents and components for rapid test research and development applications in various countries such as the U.S., Canada, Europe, and China. In order to meet the new product development needs, Helastone is renovating a new biosafety lab in Toronto, which will be ready by the end of 2024. Meanwhile, the new facility will empower Healstone the capacity to distribute IVD in the Canadian market and to serve existing and new Canadian customers.

The Sales Representative is responsible for sales of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) within the Canadian market. They are the principal point of contact between a business and its customers. Sales reps ensure current customers have the right products and services, identify new markets and customer leads, and pitch prospective customers.

  1. Duties and responsibilities
  • Implement product sales strategies to ensure sales goals and targets are achieved.
  • Work with supervisor to develop and execute sales plan.
  • Provide sales information to the supervisor to support the development of the proposed forecast.
  • Utilize selling skills to ensure customer needs are met and territory sales targets are achieved through regular customer contact.
  • Identify new business opportunities and gain new or expanded business within the territory while maintaining existing business.
  • Communicate market intelligence to the sales and marketing team.
  • Visit distributor customers and end users to better understand the customer and users demand, and find business opportunities.
  • Attend marketing activities, conferences, health talks, exhibitions, booths, and trade displays as required.
  • Conduct video showings/slide presentations/in-service/trials/market research and advocate speaker meetings with customer base, as required.
  • Develop and maintain territory and customer records.
  • Attend regular departmental meetings with the manager to build in continuous feedback.
  • Internally communicate the customer/user demand with functional departments and generate new products to fulfill the customer/user
  • Understand the Health Canada regulations about the IVD using
  • Ensure all activities in the territory are executed with professionalism and comply with Healgen standards and the Code of Conduct.
  1. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a science discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience. Experience gained in multinational medical device companies will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated history of overachieving sales targets.
  • Ability to quickly absorb clinical information.
  • Responds quickly & being proactive.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal
  1. Other requirements
  • This position will be based in Toronto
  • Flexible for hyper work environment (Office + Home Office), and (limited) travelling
  • Flexible working time to communicate with global colleagues in different time zone
  • Communicate in Mandarin will be a bonus skill
  • Commission + KPI based salary rather than a time-based job
