Company Overview: Fraser Valley Refrigeration is located in Aldergrove and is a rapidly growing and dynamic organization of approximately 150 employees working across 4 Western Canadian provinces, specializing in the fields of industrial and institutional Refrigeration, HVAC and mechanical services and retrofit. With a workforce of over 100 field technicians, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ammonia Service Technician to work with an ammonia-focused field team of 18 to support and grow our customer base across the region. Position Overview:

The Ammonia Service technician is responsible for providing to our commercial, industrial and institutional customer base, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair services as required to ensure the reliable and safe operation of their ammonia plants.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components.

Repairs: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment, replacing or repairing faulty components as needed.

Safety Compliance: Ensure that all ammonia refrigeration systems meet safety and environmental standards, following relevant regulations and guidelines to prevent leaks and hazards.

Monitoring: Regularly monitor system performance and conditions, making adjustments to optimize efficiency and prevent potential issues.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, including leaks or system failures, to minimize risks and protect personnel and property.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system maintenance, repairs, and any modifications made to the equipment. This includes updating equipment manuals and drawings.

Testing: Perform regular tests and inspections to assess the system's performance and identify any potential problems.

Training: Provide training to site and other personnel as required regarding the safe and proper operation of ammonia refrigeration systems.

Materiel Management: Maintain appropriate stock of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs, and restock as necessary to ensure efficient execution of work as it arises.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in within the ammonia refrigeration service industry with 2-5 years of experience
  • Appropriate ammonia certifications
  • Industrial refrigeration experience or food or recreation industry experience would be an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Fitness: The job may involve lifting heavy equipment and working in physically demanding
  • Strong communicator in all aspects of their work with technicians, customers and administrative
  • Possess valid Driver's Lisence, an ability to travel by air when site necessitates

Compensation: Local Union Scale + overage commensurate with experience. Profit sharing also availableo individuals with signficant industry experience and seniority.
