BeWell Health Clinics are state-of-the-art Wellness Institutions located throughout the GTA. Our focus is on Integrative Psychological care for the whole family. Through personalized treatment plans and elevated administrative patient services, we meet patients where they are at the moment and work with them to find accessible, sustainable solutions so that they can live the life they want. As believers in a multifaceted approach to mental health, we are proud to work with industry-leading professionals in the fields of talk therapy, assessments and diagnosis services, medication management, and other evidence-based modalities. Our clinics address diverse issues and complex presentations across various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Our two clinics are conveniently located in the South Mississauga and Corktown/Durand area of Hamilton. Led by our Psychiatrists in collaboration with our Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers, we offer comprehensive outpatient programs that focus on assessment and treatment/management for addictions, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, ADHD and more.

At BeWell Clinics, our Clinical Internship and Practicum Program serves as a premier training hub for Master's and Doctorate students. Our comprehensive program caters to students seeking to fulfill degree requirements in fields such as Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Education in Counselling Psychology.

At BeWell Clinics, students benefit from hands-on practicum experiences while receiving expert supervision from experienced clinicians. These practicum hours count toward meeting the requirements for registration with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as well as the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).

We're looking for individuals driven by a passion for helping others and who thrive in diverse environments. Our ideal candidate values collaborative teamwork within a collegial atmosphere. Initiative, integrity, and a professional demeanor are qualities we highly value. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for this role. An eagerness to delve into various aspects of a private practice setting, including intake procedures and administrative tasks, is a plus. Candidates interested in gaining insight into psychological assessments, such as ADHD, psychodiagnostic, psychoeducational, WSIB, and MVA assessments, will find this placement particularly rewarding.

Minimum eligibility includes:

  • Master's-level education in a related field.
  • It's crucial for all assigned CRPO students to attain "RP (Qualifying)" status, enabling engagement in psychotherapy for direct client contact hours.
  • A trauma-informed approach is highly valued; candidates not yet trauma-certified should commit to obtaining certification within 6 months.
  • Proficiency in technology is essential, including familiarity with Electronic Medical Records systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • A stable high-speed internet connection, a private home office, and the ability to conduct tele-therapy sessions are mandatory.
  • Candidates must secure their own Student professional liability insurance.
  • Participation in team meetings, occasional team-building activities, and group case reviews is expected.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working or volunteering in mental health or a related field.
  • You are available for at least 3 days a week, including evenings and weekend availability. It is expected that students will come into the clinic during their provided availability when in-person appointments are scheduled.

Other Requirements:

  • A Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Provide two work references.
  • Completion of an ASIST workshop before or within the first month of the practicum.

  • Access to a wealth of training resources is provided, including a library of training videos, treatment manuals, and an array of enriching literature, ensuring students have ample materials for comprehensive learning.
