Helcim is searching for a talented UX Manager to join us on our mission to become the world's most loved payments company.

As the UX Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product experience across our payment platform, ensuring seamless, secure, and user-friendly interactions while constantly finding opportunities to add Delight to our products.

You will be leading a team of Product Designers, and collaborate closely with Front-end Development as well as other cross-functional teams to drive the design vision for Helcim.

What you will do

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the team, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture. Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and career growth.
• Collaborate closely with front-end development to own the full design life-cycle from conception to delivery.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and drive the overall design strategy for Helcim's payments products. Ensure alignment with business goals and user needs.
• Extensive expertise in design systems, UX patterns, and tokens, coupled with a robust knack for viewing designs and solutions from a systemic perspective.
• Implement design solution that incorporate delightfull esthetics and contribute to elevate the product experience
• Conduct or oversee user research activities to gain insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points within the payments domain. Use research findings to inform and validate design decisions.
• Uphold design standards and ensure the quality of design deliverables within the payments domain. Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
• Serve as a strong advocate for user-centered design principles within the organization, specifically in the context of payments. Communicate the value of UX design and contribute to a user-centric mindset across the company.

Who you are

• Experienced in UX/UI design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven ability to inspire, mentor, and guide team members.
• Impeccable sense of design and aesthetics applied to everything visual.
• Implement design system patterns and comprehensive documentation, ensuring that solutions are systematically applied across all Helcim digital products.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, demonstrating a deep understanding of the design process combined with outstanding visual design skills
• Strong understanding of front-end code and its constraints
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in the payments domain.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.
• Previous experience in the fintech or payments industry is a plus.
• Previous experience as a graphic or visual designer is a plus

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and be located in Calgary for this position. Helcim uses a hybrid work structure where team members can work 3 days in the Calgary office (Monday/Wednesday/Friday) and 2 days (Tuesday/Thursday) at home.
