About this Opportunity

cōchu chocolatier is growing and is looking for someone to join our chocolate family as part of the Retail & Packaging Team.

The Retail & Packaging Team is responsible for hand-packing our award-winning chocolate for sale while maintaining the quality and care that goes into all aspects of our company. This individual will work alongside other team members to provide high quality customer service in our new retail storefront, serving drinking chocolate, making coffee, helping set up and stock our displays and inviting shoppers and taste-testers to engage with our products in a playful, educational and professional way. This role also encompasses retail tasks such as handling cash, processing payments and taking inventory.

Expectations
  • Full-time position, primarily daytime shifts between Tuesday - Sunday with occasional evening shifts.
  • Adhere to our Employee Handbook and Good Manufacturing Practices, and be responsible for maintaining the quality and care that goes into all aspects of our company.

Tasks

  • Retail:
    • Greeting customers with a cheerful attitude, making everyone feel welcome and special while visiting our store.
    • Provide information about products and services, take or enter orders, and obtain details of complaints and resolve with the support of management to ensure positive and exceptional customer service in store and on the phone.
    • Food service: preparing hot drinks (coffee, drinking chocolate, tea), serving chocolates for sit down customers, clearing dishes and wiping down tables.
    • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
    • Complete transactions using Square POS and tablet. Perform opening and closing procedures, including cash management procedures.
  • Packaging:
    • Preparing packaging materials, and packaging products for sale, for storage, or for shipping.
    • Filling customer orders and maintaining accurate records associated with each order.
  • Assisting with tracking inventory for packaging and retail: confirm inventory, support procurement, and receive deliveries of raw materials and place into storage.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness in the facility according to AHS guidelines with strict adherence to the industry defined cleaning schedule. Adhere to COVID-19 protocols and follow the government mandated guidance at all times.
  • Occasional support of production may be requested.

Qualifications
  • Able to maintain a high standard of quality and commitment to meet or exceed expectations
  • Barista experience required
  • Able to handle confidential information while exercising discretion and good judgement
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive into any task with a smile
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Works well with their hands and able to handle delicate items with care, while still maintaining efficiency
  • Food safety and handling knowledge and/ or experience an asset
