The Drafting Technologist is responsible for preparing complete sets of mechanical PWS (Packages Water Systems) drawings and DDs (Dimensional Diagrams). NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ENGINEERING POSITION

Essential Duties:

• Prepares complete sets of drawings which include technical layout, multiple views, detail drawings and assembly drawings, several cross-sectional and subassembly drawings required.
• Maintains proper documentation and database changes.
• Determines most appropriate views, prepares final drawings and supplementary information necessary to complete assignments, selects required information from precedents, manufacturers, catalogs, and technical guides.
• Utilizes mathematical formulas to compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of material, etc.
• May perform design work generally limited to complex layout of equipment based on standards and established practices with assignments designed to develop increasing knowledge of product application.
• May establish or modify product documentation system to simplify and automate the process.
• Interfaces with internal staff as well as customers, agents, or vendors regarding technical issues pertaining to parts, design, usage, specifications, etc.
• Ability to handle responsibilities with effective interpersonal skills and to effectively interface with others inside and outside the Company is required.

Education Required:

• 3-4 year Certificate or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, Design, and/or similar

Experience Required:

• Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is preferred

Physical Skill and Effort:

• Work requires highly skilled, precise, complicated, and/or difficult manual skill. Work involves fairly light and simple types of physical exertion.

Working Conditions and Hazards:

• Normal plant, shop, or office conditions. From time to time, slightly disagreeable features. Negligible/little or no exposure.
