An industry-leading mining company with mines operating around the globe is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. This position reports to the Manager, Finance and assists the Manager and Finance team by developing analysis to provide insights into operational and financial performance, variances, drivers, and key trends to support organizational performance, key initiatives, and senior-level decision-making. As part of the corporate FP&A team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and decision-making processes of the company

Major Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development and maintenance of complex financial and operational models, templates and reporting while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and consistency of data.
  • Assembles budgeting and forecasting reports for Management and Board presentations; prepares data including variance reports comparing actuals to budgets, forecasts and year-over-year activities.
  • Supports selected operations for budgeting, forecasting and actual cost allocations and accounting policy application.
  • Responsible for selected operations explanation and analysis of operating results, cash flows and cost metric sections of the monthly report.
  • Supports capital allocation and budgeting process maintenance and reporting.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of new global organization financial policies and associated processes.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary finance projects in cooperation with global finance teams across the organization and with other departments within the corporate office.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the FP&A function, and leads implementation efforts.
  • Evaluates and implements business intelligence tools to improve efficiency of internal and external reporting processes.

Qualifications:

  • 3- 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
  • CPA or CFA would be considered an asset.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel is required, with an ability to build, maintain, and update complex Excel models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with personnel at all levels of seniority, from other functional areas across the Company and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in English. Proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese is an asset.

Salary: 85,000.00 per year
