The Production Assistant is primarily responsible for supporting the Production department. This position collaborates with a variety of other teams to ensure the Production team is kept up to date of all changes and challenges. The Production Assistant creates and maintains documentation, system information, and process information in an organized manner with keen attention to detail. This position also acts as a liaison between the Production department, Production team members, and other departments to ensure all parties are kept in the know.

What you'll be doing:

Data Entry, Reports, System Testing & Document Management

  • File all paperwork as required.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for all administrative tasks.
  • Review and update schedules frequently.
  • Generate all required reports.
  • Update End of Month Manufacturing Report
  • Enter requisitions on a daily basis.
  • Perform testing of ERP/CMMS systems occasionally

6S & Ad hoc Projects

  • Participate in assigned 6S project work.
  • Ensure 6S paperwork is distributed to appropriate parties.
  • File all 6S paperwork as required.
  • Work on other projects as may be assigned from time to time.

Health & Safety

  • Prepare daily toolbox talks.
  • Review and update system with toolbox talk quizzes.
  • Work in safe manner and follow all Health & Safety policies and protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Inventory and Order Entry Support

  • Review various supply inventories to ensure stock is available.
  • Place supplies orders approximately 2 to 3 times per week
  • Clean sleeves to re-use for new schedule packages
  • Collaborate with various Production and Warehouse departments to complete inventory counts.

Administrative Support

  • Support Purchase Order Receiving daily as needed.
  • Create signage and laminate documents.
  • Take pictures and scan information into systems.

Other

Take pictures and scan information into systems. Follow all applicable employment and health and safety legislation.

Demonstrate corporate values in the performance of the work and interactions with others.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced administrative role

Skills:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds multiple times daily.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting systems and software
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within deadlines.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills
  • Competent mathematical and analytical skills
