The Opportunity
VistaVu is looking for a Quality Assurance expert to join our Product Team as a Quality Assurance Specialist. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, and proactive. The Quality Assurance Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the overall quality of products. The successful candidate will ensure customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and the overall success and reputation of the company.

This role plays a crucial role in ensuring that products, services and processes meet established standards and customer expectations.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to work 2-3 days weekly in our Calgary downtown office.

What will you be doing?

  • Establish and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Create guidelines for quality standards and compliance.
  • Design and implement testing protocols to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
  • Conduct testing of products or services to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Employ automation tools for efficient and automated testing.
  • Monitor and evaluate product quality results to identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct inspections and reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Work closely with the development group, customer support, or the customer directly to address quality-related concerns.
  • Use customer input to improve processes, address quality concerns and coordinate with the development group.
  • Maintain detailed records of quality assurance activities, test results, and Product documentation. Generate reports on quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to implement process enhancements.
  • Investigate and determine the root causes of quality issues.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified problems.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in quality processes.
  • Implement quality initiatives and best practices.

What experience do you need?

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, or other related fields.
  • 5 years plus experience in Quality Assurance or related roles.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with automated testing tools.
  • SAP Business One or S/4 Hana Cloud experience will be preferred.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal, technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to details
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and complete testing activities within the timeframe.
