Job Description

United Engineers & Constructors, Inc., is in search of a Contracts Manager to support its work on the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement contract between Bruce Power and Shoreline Power Group (a joint venture of which United is a member). This is a high-profile, challenging project involving a complex and sophisticated project and contractual structure. The position would reside in the project office in Kincardine, ON.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Oversight and direction of contract administration and other commercial matters on the project;
  • Coordinate with project manager and subject matter experts to develop strategies to advance commercial matters to client, to preserve contractual rights under a complex contract, to provide change notices (including basis and quantification of impact), and to develop responses to client claims;
  • Manage team of commercial support staff in support of project commercial strategy;
  • Liaising with JV member company representatives on significant commercial risks and opportunities;
  • Communicate with client's commercial lead and team to address issues and develop solutions as they arise; and
  • Interface with project team and field personnel to stay abreast of project issues.

What You Bring To The Team

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or Contract Management; MBA is preferred
  • A minimum 10 years of Contract Management experience with large EPC projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; superior communication skills is essential
  • Ability to handle pressure and maintain a level head through negotiations
  • Strong preference given to candidates with significant experience in managing commercial issues and strategy on large, complex projects, including experience interfacing with Project Controls functions.
  • Nuclear experience is also preferred.
