Job Title: Business Analyst - Contract Job ID: CV18233559Location: Vancouver/ Calgary Overview:Collaborating with the Delivery Manager, Renew Operations Systems (ROS), the Business Analyst will support the company's business transformation program – RACE21™. The transformation touches on meaningful topics such as digitization, automation, and sophisticated analytics and provides an opportunity to collaborate with multi-functional teams in the company. As part of RACE21™, the ROS Program is responsible for refreshing and fortifying the digital backbone at the company's operations globally. This program will significantly upgrade the company's operations technology across Mine, Plant, Maintenance, Health, Safety, and Environment with a new and expanded set of coordinated technologies. The Business Analyst will support projects in the development of argument documents, requirements capturing, design documents, presentation material, partner engagement, and project management support within the ROS Program in areas such as IT field infrastructure, IoT, mining, engineering, maintenance, and processing operations technology systems. What you will be doing:
  • Be a courageous safety leader, enforce and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Work closely with key partners to prioritize requirements and communicate different messages effectively to different audiences.
  • Liaison between business, operations, and technology and innovation teams to accurately gather, analyze, document, and deliver business requirements.
  • Perform needs analysis based on business requirements and ensure solutions being proposed meets the interpersonal and business goals.
  • Participate in project development activities including, but are not limited to, documentation of business value drivers, analysis/research of needs, capturing, detailing, and updating business outcomes, and conducting information-gathering sessions.
  • Development of concise and professional execution presentation material.
  • Adapts to changing business priorities and business needs during active design periods, the ability to keep Requirement Definitions and other documentation updated accordingly.
What you must have:
  • Bilingual Spanish is a requirement.
  • Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Business Analyst with 5 years of Business Analysis or other equivalent strategic planning proficiencies.
  • Project experience in sophisticated environments, including multi-functional, international, or cross-organizational teams and partners across multiple sites, including field operations, head office, and regional offices.
  • Knowledge of BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of TOGAF Exploration & Mining Business Capability Models and their use in digital strategy development is considered an asset.
  • Mining industry experience is an asset, specifically in areas of mining, processing, maintenance, and engineering operations technologies.
  • Experience with IT technologies including industrial networking, software development, control systems, cyber security, and industrial embedded hardware helpful.
  • Industrial infrastructure experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the Mining or Natural Resources industry is helpful.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) skills including development of executive presentation material and business justification documents.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities, problem-solving abilities, and a solid grasp of business analysis techniques.
  • Ability to work comfortably with a high degree of autonomy in an environment of fast-paced change and a highly distributed team.
  • Highly driven, effective, versatile, and productive.
  • Proficient in the use of other tools used to gain business processes and build road maps.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (O365), SharePoint (Online), Visio, and Teams.
