Job Title: IT Applications Support ManagerJob ID: SC692193811Location: Calgary, ABOverview:One of our most respected clients within the educational sector is looking to add an IT Application Support Manager to its team on a full-time basis based in Calgary. The top skills needed for the role are experience in Application Support to multiple locations and experienced in Application Initiatives and Best Practices around Service delivery and support. As the IT Application Support Manager, you will be the face of the Application Support Team. With well-developed leadership capabilities, you will ensure that the Support Team is meeting business needs with internal and external support services being driven by established and well-tuned processes.What you will be doing:Manage Staff and Resources:
  • Oversee Tier 1 and Tier 2, external support and internal help services
  • Ensure that team business and Interpersonal objectives being met
  • Work closely with team to determine:
    • What's working
    • What's not working
    • What needs to be done differently
  • Evaluate team resources, and plan accordingly in order to secure the ability to meet organizational needs
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal business units
  • Problem solving
  • Assist the Application Support Team:
    • Train, empower, develop skills, and directly solve critical issues when required
  • Resource Business Units and Project Teams:
    • Oversee effective application life cycle: analysis through to decommissioning
    • Fully and properly assess Business and Project needs
    • Know the ‘inside info' of Business Units and Projects across the organization
    • Manage impacts of change on the organization
    • Foresee future business needs
  • Documentation:
    • Reporting with good data collected by the team such as user analysis
    • $, usage stats, response times, etc.
What you must have:
  • Has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, whether management or support lead, with the ability to provide inspiration and direction to their team
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects in a face-paced environment
