Position: Senior Financial Analyst
Location: Toronto, ON - Hybrid
*Pay Range: $72,000 - $80,000 CAD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Financial Analyst's responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting reporting and consolidation exercises across the business. This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager of FP&A based in Toronto.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data and provide forecasting support. They will organize data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, return on equity and earnings per share, and oversee financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control and project control. They will evaluate and analyze capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc., and study a business unit's financial data to give advice for guiding business investments and overall financial strategy. Additional duties include:
  • Analyze current and past financial data and performance.
  • Prepare reports and projections based on analysis.
  • Identify trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate with other members of the finance team to review financial information and forecasts.
  • Provide and maintain financial models and forecasting.

WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have an educational background in finance, accounting, or a related field, and will bring prior experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling. They must have the ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience and bring working knowledge of financial strategies. They will have strong organizational and multitasking skills, excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and be detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment. Additional desired skills include:
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with software such as Power BI, Microsoft D365, Python, SQL or Tableau.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or related financial systems.
  • Process improvement experience, specifically with financial systems is considered an asset.
  • Experience presenting financial data to senior audience is considered an asset.
  • CPA or pursuing CPA designation is considered an asset.

*The listed pay range represents the lowest to highest range that we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay position within the range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, local currency exchange rates, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, applicable law, and business or organizational needs.
The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off. The benefits for eligible project hires and part-time employees working less than 25 hours per week in the US include retirement, select insurance benefits, and where required by law, health benefits.
