The Role: Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) Advisor

Purpose of the Role

As an HSEC Advisor, you support Health, Safety, Environment, and Community initiatives and activities to progress safety culture at Svante. You'll ensure the company complies with all environmental, health and safety regulations. You'll train employees, develop policies, document incidents, and take action on infractions with coaching, mentoring, and oversite.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • You have 5-8 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in an HSEC role in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • You have HSE Certification or are working towards certification.
  • You have a CSO certification or are interested in working towards certification.
  • You have strong organizational skills and an ability to use all Microsoft Suite of products and other systems effectively.
  • You have proven influencing experience and an ability to enforce procedures.
  • You have an ability to apply detailed attention to multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

What Success Looks Like in this Role

  • You'll provide coordination and administration of regulations, compliance and policies, and ensure company policies adhere to local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • You'll train employees on health and safety regulations and associated practices.
  • You'll administer safety Programs (e.g. Safety PIP, Orientation, Training, Spot the Hazard, Swag, etc.).
  • You'll coordinate the Joint Health and Safety Committee, attend meetings and provide advice and support.
  • You'll assist in developing a Zero Harm safety culture.
  • You'll travel for site HSEC auditing as required.

The actual salary offered to the final candidate is based on the salary range shown, and will vary depending on the candidate's relative experience, qualifications, and anticipated level of performance.
