This individual plays a pivotal role in leading and overseeing mechanical engineering projects specific to water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the successful installation, operation, and maintenance of critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects focused on water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Equipment Installation: Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, including filtration systems, pumps, valves, and instrumentation, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Piping Systems: Coordinate the design, installation, and maintenance of piping systems within water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring efficient flow, distribution, and containment of fluids.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, providing guidance, technical expertise, and training to ensure the quality and efficiency of project deliverables.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety protocols related to mechanical engineering practices within water and wastewater facilities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to develop integrated solutions that meet project objectives and client specifications.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical support for troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and documentation packages to document project progress, equipment specifications, and maintenance procedures.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to procure materials, equipment, and services required for project execution, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of mechanical systems and processes within water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Strong technical expertise in installing and maintaining mechanical equipment, filtration systems, instrumentation, and piping within water and wastewater facilities.
- Experience working with diverse piping systems, including PVC, HDPE, ductile iron, and stainless steel, in addition to expertise in equipment installation and integration.
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including filtration, disinfection, sedimentation, and chemical dosing, preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices in water and wastewater treatment.
